Jan Morris, the writer, lives in a big rectangular house in Wales that once was a stable. It was built in the Middle Ages out of stone.

Sometimes even when she isn't in the building, she leaves classical music playing for the stones because she knows they like it.

--This was mentioned by Paul Theroux, like Morris a travel writer, in his book "Kingdom by the Sea" which is about traveling around the edge of the island of Britain, including visiting Jan Morris' house.
